Liomandra | Avessalos

The trail begins at Liomandra, where the church of Panaghia with its famous yearly festivals is located. Southwest of the hamlet are the ruins from the Cyclopean -according to tradition- Liomandra walls.

The trail's first portion is relatively smooth but unmarked. You can see the beach of Avessalos, and the trail is defined by stone walls. About 500m from the start a branch turns right to Notinos, but it is full of shrubs and thorns as it is not in use.

The trail continues unmarked, and towards the end things get foggier, as it gets completely lost in dense vegetation. Your only reference point from here on is that you are descending towards the sea.
